Competitions & Awards

I'm very proud to announce that I've been commended for my entry in the annual Bradford Textile Society Awards.

Established in 1893, the Bradford Textile Society is the oldest textile society in Britain, if not in the world. Despite all the changes which have taken place in the textile industry since its formation, the Society continues to thrive.

I've entered three years running and am so delighted to have a commendation from such a prestigious organisation - can't wait for the awards night on the 13th of May! I'll post pics then.

Society of Dyers and Colourists Competition - Jan/Feb 2014

I was shortlisted by the University of Derby to enter this competition with my print work.

Throughout the design process, I tried to combine print techniques with patterned knitting in order to create a layered and interesting feel that is unique and reflects my personal creative signature.

This entry was based on beautiful and luxurious knitted square scarves, using knitted jersey in addition to digitally printed scarves with overprinted foils.

Whilst experimenting with different edgings and structures I’ve discovered a way of making them shower proof using adhesive membrane, adding an extra element to the whole concept.
